Capital Division 8/25

The Blue Pigeons came from behind to beat the Red Cuckoos, after the Cuckoos fought back from an 8 run deficit. The big blow was a liner over third for clean hit by Wendy Shotsky off a Wayne Newcomb heater in the 7th inning with two runners on base. The save goes to closer Mike Aiello, whose second strike out of the bottom of the seventh to end the game came with the tying run on second base. Great game.

We plan to play next Saturday, 10 am, at New Scotland. Please confirm your attendance at anseljamesc@gmail.com We are hoping to continue Saturday games throughout September and October.

Jim,

Would you accept players under 40?

Rob,

We are visiting an important issue. With the league's support, the Capital Division is directed to playing time and involvement for older players, particularly if they are getting squeezed out of playing time or are not comfortable in the 45's and 55's. At the same time, the league means to be inclusive to all adult ballplayers. I think we need to give opportunities to all players who want a chance to play in the league. I sure don't want to discourage your friend.
