1. Thanks to Don Ball for getting us going. Saturday Capital Division baseball has been very successful, primarily due to Dons work. Rightfully, Don would like to go fishing instead of organize fields, players, umpires, and teams. Way to go, Don! 2. Next Saturday, we are having a picnic after our game at 11 am at Schenectady A Diamond. Don is playing and we will toast him after the game. 3. We are going to keep going on Saturdays this year following next weeks game. The next three Saturdays, we will have Capital Division games at 11 am at New Scotland. We may even play further into September and October, depending on interest. 4. More? There are 60+ and 65+ tournaments in Florida and Arizona this fall and winter. Team submission due dates are upon us, so we need to know who is interested in playing in these tournaments. The opportunities are described on the national MSBL and Roy Hobbs websites. They are: msbl fall classic, west palm beach, 11/10 - 16 for 60+ (this is the tournament John Reel is encouraging for our league) msbl world series, phoenix, 10/19-25 65+, 10/28-11/2 60+ roy hobbs world series, fort myers, 11/9-16, 60+, 11/16-23 65+ roy hobbs sunshine classic, 2/6-9 65+, 2/10-13 60+, fort myers (This tournament is a hoot and breaks up the winter)
Please let me know of your interest and availability for Saturday Capital Division baseball going forward this season and for tournaments this fall and winter.
