Fred Pidgeon's first inning, two-run jack served as a wake-up call for the Dodgers. A two-out single in the bottom of the 1st by Jim Bradley cut the deficit to one. The first seven Dodgers reached base in the bottom of the 3rd giving the boys in blue an 8 - 2 advantage. Tommy Hoeg's two-RBI liner into left in the 5th pushed the Dodgers lead to 10 - 3. With one out in the 6th and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Pirates batter, Jim Jassewicz hit a grounder back to the mound. Somehow, Jazzy and the runner from 2nd scored.
The rest of the game was much less eventful. Final score Dodgers 10 - Pirates 5.
