I think now is the time for this league to do what is necessary to build a new centrally located baseball field with artificial turf, lights, dugouts, etc. With several hundred players currently playing and a few hundred more who have participated in the past, I believe this can be done.
After doing a little research, it looks like about a million dollars would have to be raised, and it will not get less expensive in the future.
This would totally eliminate scrambling for a decent field to play on. Most everyone I know loves playing on A Diamond when its available.
The last I knew, the Board Designated Fund - the money the league has set aside for field improvements - was approximately $990,000 short of a million!
Hopefully we will see you and the rest of the Twins at this Saturday's golf tournament where money will be raised for league projects!
