55 Yankees and Pirates made a valiant effort to get their game in on the A Diamond last night but in the end it didn't happen. After Pirates pitcher Billy Smith took a header fielding a bunt the umps called the game that probably shouldn't have even started. It was tied at 2-2 with the Yankees batting in the bottom of the 4th with bases loaded and no outs.
The comeback kids comment has nothing to do with the game itself but rather the Pirates lineup. I hope I don't leave anyone out but it was great to see several long time CDMSBL players who haven't played recently - Pete Westphal, Wayne Newcomb, Chuck Stanley and Teddy Poleto were all back on the field after a break from the game. Add in the rest of the Pirates team and there is some serious history and longevity on that roster!

Does this game start from scratch when the 2 teams take the field again ?
We had a game against the Whiz last year that was stopped by darkness in the bottom of the 6th , no outs, Twins batting, runners on first and second, score 8-8. It was not picked up again at a later date and was recorded as a tie.
its on hold. would start over if played again. it didn't reach 5 complete like your game did last year. we may not play this game and I may declare it a yankees win as it would revert back to the last completed innings score . 2-1 we'll see.
