After being rained out in their previous attempt this season with no score after 4 innings, the Braves and Bombers squared off again on Sunday to try again. This time in Watervliet with zero threat of rain. Dave Smitherman had 1-2-3 innings in 4 of his 6 innings pitched for the Bombers. Chris Dunn went the distance for the Braves holding the potent Bomber lineup to 4 runs (2 earned)on a bomb to right center by Bob Altobelli. The Braves trailed 3-1 going into the bottom of the sixth when they broke out for 4 runs on clutch hits by Ray Coletta and Brendan Hogan, taking a 5-3 lead. The Bombers got one back in the 7th, coming up just short with a final score of 5-4. Big win for the Braves; always fun playing those guys. Looking forward to our next matchup with Lex's crew in a couple weeks.
