Cubs move to 13-1, with a 12-0 win over the Cardinals.

With both teams down a few of their top players, and playing a game that looked like it was destined to be postponed,
the Cubs came out on top 12-0 in 5 innings, at Legion Field in Albany.
Many thanks go out to Jimmy Konstantakis for getting Legion Field for us at the 11th hour.

In a battle of starting pitchers who hail from Burns Whitney Estates in Latham, Mike Girard (Dover Drive) bested Jim Bonaparte (Harold Avenue).
Mike scattered 3 singles (2 of which were by Bonaparte, Clay Bouton had the other) and no walks, while striking out 5 in his 5 shut out innings of work, for the win.
The Cubs were able to manage 11 hits against Bonaparte, in plating 12 runs, in their 4 innings at the plate.

Girard led the way for the Cubs, with a triple and 2 singles, a stolen base, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's.
Scott Ross had two hits, a stolen base, 2 runs and 2 RBI's. Paul Miles, Ron Lochner, PJ Martone, Marc Lochner, Jim McQuade, and Bob Coffey had the other hits
for the Cubs.

With the victory, the Cubs move to within one win (with two games remaining) of clinching the number one seed for the upcoming playoffs.
Next up is the Giants (for a 4th time) next Tuesday, at the C-Diamond, in Schenectady.
