Dennis Lane did a great job getting the field ready for a 3:00 p.m. game between the Giants and Cyclones - however, the Cyclones appeared to be ill-prepared for a very talented Giants team. Not sure what the Cyclones have done to earn playing their first two official (non-rain-out) games against two of the league's best teams, but the Giants sure came prepared for their first game of the season.
The Giants compiled 11 hits (5 XBH) and capitalized on 6 walks for the 13-0 rout of the Cyclones.
The Cyclone only managed four hits against a couple of really tough Giants pitchers.
Unless either team manages to reschedule previous rain-outs for next weekend, The Giants next face off against the Marlins on June 3 at 10:00 p.m. at New Scotland and the Cyclones don't get much of a break as they take on a tough Black Sox squad on June 3 at 12:30 at New Scotland.
