Day 2 was a difficult one to grasp. We took a lead early 2-0 against team CT for 5 when a couple misques by the umps put us in a bad position. The biggest when our pitcher spiked a curve into the front foot of a lefty batter which Caromed off the foot of the Umpire, men on 2nd and 3rd , the ball rolled down the small hill to the backstop to the right , the catcher saw it hit the foot of the batter and thought it rolled left was looking for the ball and 2 runs scored. The ump didnt call it a dead ball said it never hit the batters foot. We lost 4-2 Today Wednesday was Double header day. First game against Fairfax we won 9-3, second game we lost to delware buccos ( no clue what a bucco is ) 8-5. We had chances to win both games didnt get the timely hit. We stand 2-2 with 1 to play tomorrow
Beat the Giants today at 1:30 pm and you will likely be a 4 seed, going in to the playoffs. Your 16 runs against is 3rd best among the teams that have played 4 games. The Giants have a 10:00 am game on Englebert #2. They are playing the 4-0 NJ Pirates. Show up a little early and do some scouting. They will likely be 2-2 after that game, as you guys are. The winner goes to 3-2, and will likely join the Buccos (34 RA), S. Atlanta Twins (36 RA), and NY Astros (22 RA) with that record. Keep the Giants under 6 runs and win the game, and you are definitely the 4-seed.
How many teams make the playoffs? If it is 8, then only one 2-3 team will make it. If it is 12, then you are already in.
How many teams get a bye? If it is 4, use whoever would be your first round playoff pitcher to secure the bye. If it is only 2, then don't waste any playoff pitchers. Conserve, conserve, conserve!
Good luck today! I will be waiting to hear how you did, so get that bulletin board post in ASAP.
