Cooperstown 40+ Tourney August 7-10

Hi guys,
Here is some info on a tournament that some of us play in during August in Cooperstown. The Manager Lee Carilli is looking for a few more guys to round out the two teams he is putting together.
Mike Surin

MikePlease forward to Albany Managers in your 45+ league..Thank you!!! They can call me at (845) 531-8975 with questions. We need players for the second team!

Good Evening Gentleman:
Well we have a great deal of interest in Cooperstown right now. For that reason we are entering a second team in the tournament, The Hudson Valley Killer Crabs.
With the 2017 40+ Tournament in Cooperstown almost upon us (August 7-10), its time to complete that team. 39 year olds can play but cannot pitch.
Because we are overwhelmed with interest, we are entering this second team. The second team already has 8 players. We are also reaching out to our fellow players in the Albany league to round out the squad.
The first 16-18 fees received (plus a few pitchers) will be those that are on the Hudson Valley Killer Crab Team. Any that pay after that point will still have a team to play on as there are typically a group of players without a team that stragglers can be merged with. With the 8 players committed thus far that leaves about 8-9 slots, or more depending upon the number of days individuals can attend.
Typical half the games or more are at Doubleday in downtown, the balance at Beaver Valley and occasionally one game in Milford.
Canada came with an extremely fortified squad this past year and will be the team to beat. Westchester and the two Buffalo teams are also competitive, and weve only beaten the NJ Bucks by one run. There is another team or two from New Jersey and in the past teams from Ohio, NH and Tennessee have attended.

For these reasons we need a solid crew for the Killer Crabs.
You need Pitching and catching for 8 games!!! From experience you also need a strong middle infield.
I will be attempting to prepay the Killer Crabs team fee on June 30 in an effort to reduce the normal cost of $400 per player to what you see in the chart below. Playing all 4 days guarantees you 8 games. The tournament organizer has said he will lock the prices in at the numbers indicated below.
You need not play all 4 days. Pick one, two , three or all four. Whatever suits your schedule and/or desire.
If we can get a firm commitment from 15-16 guys for the Crabs, these numbers will hold.
There are two games per day and at least half of the games are at Doubleday right near the Hall of Fame:

Days Attending PAID PRIOR 6/30 PAID PRIOR 7/31 PAID AFTER 8/1
1 75 85 100
2 145 175 200
3 215 250 300
4 265 350 400

As you can see it pays to pay early! How can you get your fee to me?

Later on I will send you some ideas for lodging. Best bet is to rent a house with a bunch of guys and split the cost. AirBnB has tons of great opportunities
Attached is the registration form which should accompany your payment or which can be printed and scanned or emailed.

Please call me at (845) 531-8975 to discuss the tournament details. AlsoI need a manager for that team! Ill build the spreadsheet for you and get you rolling but anyone interested should let me know.

Some Isotope players may be available to play for you in a game when you might be short. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Leander Carilli
