30 YANKEES vs MET HARDEST GAME I EVER PLAYED

IMG_4522.JPGFirst I would like to thank guys from the league for their kindness and their words of inspiration and condolences. my mother passed away thurs morning. 13 years she fought cancer. Just when she thought she beat it she got another type and another and another. breast bladder kidney and bone. I watched her for the past 13 years of my life struggle, in pain, but never complained to us and never wanted sympathy. I had a game I told my dad I wasn't going to go I was going to stay. He told me to go play for Oma , she loved watching me play. And would be watching now. It's bigger than Yankees vs Mets the Mets were amazing , gracious and the most classy guys. I wanted to pitch thinking help keep my mind off things because I would have to focus on pitching . I was all over the place tears in my eyes on every pitch the Mets took a 3-0 lead. I almost felt like they felt bad getting hits and scoring. But again they wanted to win as well, we scrambled and put 4 runs up on the board and took a 1 run lead. I was empty I know I wouldn't be able to throw anymore I had nothing left. It was the bottom of the 5th and Lightning came and started to pour game was called. maybe Oma was watching and knew I couldn't go any further. thank u all especially the Mets, for being supportive, understanding and above all kind to me during this most trying time of my life. losing your mom isn't ever easy and it will suck from now on. but baseball gave me that few hours of a get away and I know she was watching. Thanks again to my baseball brothers.
Thank you capital district baseball.

Beautifully written, Lex. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Your mother sounded very brave.
A good mother and father are the keys to a good, strong life.
