Yes, he did pitch a gem. 7 innings, 5 hits, and 1 unearned run. The Whiz took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st when Kane had a 1-out single, and scored on Reggie Flansburg's RBI single. They made it 2-0 in the 4th, when Blaise Agnew hit an RBI single to score Jim Preller with an unearned run. The Giants got one back in the bottom of the 5th on a single by Pete Geannelis, an error, and an RBI single by Doug O'Brey. The Whiz added an insurance run in the top of the 7th when Greg Mangione, making his Whiz Kids debut, walked, stole 2nd, and scored on a single by John Cortese. A well played game. Good to be on the field again after a winter of hibernation.
