After enduring a very difficult, winless year last season, the new Twins started the 2017 season with a 5-2 victory over the Peppers at Satellite Field on Thursday.
It was a good game: 2-2 after 5. In the top of the sixth and final inning, the Twins scored three times and then held the lead, behind the complete game, 3-hit pitching of new Twins pitcher Tom King.
I'm never happy to take a loss, or to talk about it, but I'm very glad for the Twins and for the division. Jim Edelman has put a talented team on the field and I expect they'll be a challenge for the other six teams in the 55s.
