And now we're done.

The 50+ Albany Capitals ended their Fall Classic run on Friday morning with a loss to the Naperville Yankees. It began as a tight battle. Yanks took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 4th inning. Capitals countered, taking a 2-1 lead in the 5th. The bottom half of the frame brought a perfect storm: Capitals starter Scott McReynolds began to tire, the Yanks began taking better swings on their 3rd pass through the lineup, and 3 defensive miscues hurt. When the inning ended, Capitals trailed 8-2, and we never fully recovered. On the adjacent field, Careccia's and Parella's DC Mustang A's also dropped their playoff game, 7-6.

For the week, Don Ball led the team in batting average, hitting .400, while Jim Tesoriero led in on base percentage at .474. Mike Surin led in stolen bases and runs scored. Pat Alston led in RBI and had the lone triple. Jim Tesoriero and Mike White led in walks, while Don Ball and Tim Burns both were hit by pitches twice. Mike White led in doubles.

That's a wrap from Clearwater. It's been a fun week. We'll regroup for next year.

Thanks a bunch for your reporting. Good that you guys journeyed to FL and play as good as you did.

Good job Guys
Been to Fla many times without making it to playoff round.
That's a feat in itself.
Way to go.
