I know it is early in the week, but right there is a very good chance of a crappy weather day Sunday...
There are three games involving the non-round robin teams scheduled for Chatham on Sunday. Why not move these games to Saturday to avoid any possible rainouts...It's September so all teams should be prepared for Sat and Sun schedules anyway....
How about since the game is scheduled for Sunday, guys move their schedules around to be able to play and it's not reasonable to just have an open schedule and say lets play when we get a phone call, I am unclear how it would even be determined what time what field who chooses ? it is September and the weather varies but maybe we could have played on a few of the Sunday's over the summer that were nice, and dry . Easy to could have should have would have but I think that's why they make a schedule , and schedule times. We can play Friday night at bob Moore ?
Why not be proactive and do Saturday at 3:30 at New Scotland, Satellite, and Central Park after the second playoff games at each field to avoid the predicted rain on Sunday....we can then be prepared if anything unforeseen happens on Saturday to play on Sunday. I understand guys have lives and schedules but we are getting to a point in the calendar that we need to do everything possible to get these games in.
Skipper....there is only a 95% chance of thunderstorms Sunday...what are you a glass half-empty guy?
Besides, this is the CDMSBL, a schedule is a schedule!! Professional and collegiate games have been moved on a days notice because of the threat of bad weather, but we will remain steadfast in our ways!!
If Chatham is available Saturday, you simply move the slate of games in then.....or Lex's idea, we can sneak a triple-header in at Bob Moore Friday night, time is not a factor there....
Well the bad news is this is the cdmsbl and we aren't getting paid to play baseball, maybe the bombers aren't as independently wealthy as such the Cubs , most of our guys have to work on Saturdays. I for one have to work on Saturday as well, but I could always ask my boss to let me have a few hours off to play a recreation baseball game, that is predominantly on Sunday's because of that same issue. And thank God that we all can agree on the importance of adhering to a schedule. See you all on Sunday
And after having had a very nice and pleasant conversation w/ our beloved Commish, one Mr Johnny K-man himself ~ here is my understanding should we get drenched as forecast (and is if they ever get one right several days out)...
There will be no make-up's of the 17th games and standings will go with what we have for the 16 games we all have in.
It resorts to the coin flip for the one seed w/the coin flip being odd man out as the reg season champion/ #1 seed...
The remaining two then do an old fashioned heads/tails flip and there you have it for #2!
That would leave us all with an ummmm 33.3333% chance instead of the now 82.61% (G-men)- 17.38% (Cubbies) - and 0.01% (Us) which the ridiculous draw brought about...
Ain't life grand ma???
Wooo-wooo-wooo..
Wawww-wawww-wawww...
whoooo---whoooo-whooo...
Now leave me alone and let me go get my Indian rain dance gear out of the closet which I usually reserve for special occasions involving my favorite ladies of the night!

First, it is funny how the Bombers can't play on Saturdays but the playoffs are a Saturday and Sunday for the next 3 weeks deal. Guess they will be forfeiting the Saturday games?
Second, Why are we even playing a 17th week? We have 3 teams that are tied and have all beat each other. I guess our commission who makes **** up as the season goes on, decided to add a 17th week to the second. Then when something rain happens, says, well if it rains we will flip a coin. How about the fair thing and count the number of runs each to gave up between the 3 times we played. Then you know that the best team will get the number seed.
Valid point on the Bombers oldsorearm but not on the Commish. We all agreed to add the 17th game before the season started. I think you were out sick the day that was explained.
Well maybe if it is a scheduled game already set for playoffs guys can make accommodations to play on a Saturday as in the past. THE GAME WAS SCHEDULED for Sunday, guys already made plans for it to be in Sunday and because the Cubs prefer to play on SATURDAYS we have to change 2 days before because it could rain on Sunday? We all know how accurate the weather reports are. Jim lets play Friday night after work ? or MONDAY NIGHT IS That better? since it's already determined that it is going to definitely rain on Sunday, so now you have 2 options as well .
