Wanted to take a moment to say how proud I am of our Reds team this season!!! First off it's a great group of guys who play the game the right way! Tonight we won over a good Dirtbags team behind a throwback Freddy Mac pitching performance and good defense. Freddy I believe pitched a no-hitter and complete game. I also wanted to take a moment to recognize the job Eric Kohl's has done as Reds Manager. It has not been easy meshing three teams into a cohesive unit and the ego's that go with it. Eric managed through a medical issue as well and after a few rough spots we sit in second place behind a juggernaut Indians team. Having managed and played on several teams through the years I can say Eric has done one of the best managing jobs I've seen! I'm not sure how the Manager or the Year voting works but he should be at the top! Rob has done great with the Bears and Lex with the Yankees but imo Eric deserves it!
I would have to agree with Mario. I've gotten to know Eric from playing against each other and chatting between innings. I would say for him to have a serious health issue going on and to still run a new team and manage game to game, says a lot about a guy!! He definitely has my vote for Manager of the Year!
