The Blue Jays flew to Chatham to play the Brewers, who took a break from their ales. Last year's 4 and 5 playoff seeds, these two squads have played several well-matched games. This was another one.
The Jays took an early 5-0 lead. The Brewers threatened in nearly every inning, breaking through to tie it in the bottom of the sixth on a well-executed squeeze play. But the Jays scored 3 with two outs in the seventh to get the 8-5 win.
For the Jays, John Weber picked up a complete game win, helping himself with a key defensive play, snagging a liner up the middle and doubling a runner off third, leading to an escape of a bases loaded with nobody out jam. Both teams made some fantastic defensve plays, but also some untimely errors.
Representatives from both teams enjoyed a beverage at the Brewery afterwards.

P.S. It was a blast playing today. For those that don't know, I've moved to FL, and while there's plenty of ball down there, the leagues, at least in my area, are not nearly as big or well-organized as the CDMSBL.
