Sad news ...

Our condolences go out to Bill Smith and his family on the passing of his younger brother, Tim.

Tim Smith of Clifton Park, passed away Tuesday at age 62.

Bill Smith has been playing in CDMSBL for about 20 years now.

Tim worked as a quality assurance lab technician for Momentive Performance Materials in Waterford (formerly GE Silicone) for 35 years. He was looking forward to his retirement this spring.

He was an active member of Corpus Christi Church in Round Lake; singing in the resurrection choir, and ran the 200 club, which was the highest grossing fundraiser for the church. He was the former head of hospitality in the church, and cooked many meals for the Knights of Columbus.

One of his favorite activities was taking care of his yard at home but above all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 42 years, Mary Ann J. (Decker) Smith, son Timothy J. (Bridget) Smith Jr., daughter Erica (Timothy) Farrell, brothers William (Kate) Smith and Mark (Janise) Smith, sister-in-law Ann (Joe) Montarello, and brothers-in-law Joseph (Cindy) Decker, and Harvey (Karen) Fountaine. He is also survived by grandchildren Emma, Lily, Sophie, Samuel, and Charlotte, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral Mass on Tuesday at 1p.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Round Lake.

The family would like to thank the Corpus Christi Church prayer warriors and Tims many friends for all of their love and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Corpus Christi Building Fund, 2001 Route 9, Round Lake, NY 12151.
