The trek to Orlando for this year's Holiday Classic Tournament has begun with games starting on Friday. The Albany Capitals will represent the CDMSBL against 14 other teams in the 45+ Division.
The roster includes CDMSBL Members: John Cortese, Rob Currier, Mark Denicola, Greg Gougler, David Plew, Mike Surin, Curt Tucker, and Greg Witalec, as well as former CDMSBLer Steve Hutchinson. Also joining the Albany gang are two guys each from Chicago and New Jersey, and one each from Atlanta and Saratoga.
I think there are also CDMSBL members playing on two other teams -- Defectors, I guess you would call them. :)
according to accuweather, it's 24 degrees at 3:17 on wednesday, jan. 13th, in albany, and, with the wind, it feels like 9 degrees. we got about 1" of snow last night.
but we've got clear blue skies, and they're made all the clearer and bluer by the thought that in two days, some guys from albany will be playing baseball.
so reason to cheer.
