It's a great pleasure to let my CDMSBL friends know that even with today's tough loss 10-2 to the US Crusiers, we did enough damage in this weeks tournament to qualify as a wild card in this weekends playoffs. Today Mark Marshall went 8 and Tony Parella closed in what became a 9 inning game in under 2 1/2 hrs. The Capitals played solid baseball through 6 holding a 2-0 deficit but as things unfolded quickly scored 8 over the next 2 innings. We found out that we were playing on our opponents home field! And as Eric Feldman (who played for the white sox) stepped up to the plate, Mr Marshall stared at him and said "yes.... Your the one we got the scouting report for!" As Mark tossed a fast ball to the outside corner, Tony Parella only had time to wink as it glided along the third base chalk all the way to the fence for a stand up base clearing double. It's always fun to see talent even when it's from a very respectful opponent. We get to keep playing! That's what we are here for. Mike
