In a game where the two teams combined for 31 hits and 18 runs, the deciding factor was defense! Yes, I said defense. The Cubs only committed two errors in the game, but those two errors allowed the Giants to plate 5 of their 11 runs. The Giants played a clean game, and gave no extra outs and no extra bases to the Cubs.
It was a seesaw affair, as the Giants jumped out to a 3-0 lead, just to fall behind 7-3, then comeback to win 11-7. Ron Lochner led the way for the Cubs, with 3 hits, 2 runs scored, and a RBI. Andy Hoyle and Bobby Davis had a double, single and 2 RBI's each.
Joey Burns, Carlos Llera, Steve Lounello, and Doug Reisinger all had multiple hits for the Giants.
Just a quick aside: Not having the left field portion of the outfield fence at the satellite field sucked! Just ask Mark Dabney, and Bobby Davis.
