Current Blue Jays square off against Former Blue Jays in 55 Semi's

Okay, this was actually the Cardinals v. Damn Yankees, but because one roster features 4 of my current 45 Blue Jays teammates (Yanks) and the other carries 4 of my former Jays teammates (Cards), I've renamed the series. Game one of their 55 semi's, Satellite Field.

I'll let the clubs' own travelling secretaries post real game reports, if they want, but as a neutral spectator, here's a few things I found interesting:

--both teams loaded the bases in the first inning. Yanks pushed a run across, Cards didn't.
--pitchers for both teams (Dean Little & Earl Mitchell) ended their half of the second inning with consecutive strikeouts to strand a runner.
--pitchers for both teams picked a runner off second base (Little & Tony Fusco in relief)
--both squads had 6 strikeouts
--both squads had 5 walks
--both squads had a batter hit by a pitch (two Cards were hit)
--both teams turned a double play (Yanks: 1-2-3; Cards: 6-4-3)
--Current Blue Jays (Aiello/Bradley/Noto/Weber) went 5 for 12, with 2 2B, a BB, a Sac bunt, 3 R, 3 RBI, 2 SB
--Former Blue Jays (Plew/Ross/Yakatan; Zamory didn't play) went 3 for 6, with 3 BB, a R, a SB

Oh yeah, Current Jays (Yanks) won, 8-2.
