Spectators saw a fine, well-played game between the archrival Cyclones and Cougars on Sunday afternoon at New Scotland. A close game all the way, it's a shame one team had to win.
Frank Montagano got the ball for the Cats, and after a shaky start, held the Cyclones to just two hits over four innings for the win. Pat Biel took over on the mound in the fifth, and didn't allow a baserunner to close out the game. Pat also had a single, double, and an rbi.
Solid defense was the order of the day, with Michael Hamilton handling five assists and two put-outs at shortstop for the Ferocious Felines.
Messers. Hartman, Powell, and Farrell were masterful on the hill for the Cyclones, yielding only six hits. The Cyclones played errorless ball.
Many thanks to manager Jose Moreno and the Cyclones, who are all great guys. They break my horns unmercifully, but I know they mean only 95% of it.
