Team Albany took a 9-3 lead into the seventh inning against the NJ Reds, a team that beat Albany earlier in the week 13-6 behind the strong pitching of Jerry Solomon, but could not hang on and lost 11-10 in the quarter finals of the Fall Classic. Solomon was pitching a gem until he tired in the seventh. NJ took advantage of the Albany bullpen and took a 10-9 lead after seventh. Albany tied the score in the eight on a booming double by Steve Vangelder that bounced halfway up the left field fence 330 feet away. NJ scored one in the bottom of the eighth with two out to take the lead and the score stood up for the win. All in all it was a great week for the boys from the CDMSBL who showed every
