the 55+ red hot peppers have 12 players set for next year and we'd like to get three or four more. we're looking especially for a pitcher first; after that, one or two outfielders and an infielder/outfielder. we want to go into the season with 15 or 16 guys, thereby giving players decent playing time.
we're slowly improving: two years ago, in our first campaign, we won three games. last year we won five, finishing with a 5-10 mark and 6th place (out of 8 teams). we got better as we went, winning four in a row near the end. our goal this year is to keep improving. these three or four new players would be a key part of that.
most of our players are between 55 and 60, though being a "younger player" isn't the main criterion. more important are players with some or all of these qualities: speed, athleticism, agility, an ability to hit, field and throw, baseball smarts, and a cool head. a welcome bonus, though not required, is a sense of humor. we do want to have players who can make at least 12 of the 15 games. the division's games are played once a week, monday through friday nights, from roughly 5:45 till dark from late april through mid-august.

for next year, our compensation package will be enlarged: we'll be going from free cold water with dixie cups to free cold water with lemons and dixie cups, and, now and then, some free packets of sunflower seeds.
