Giants/Bombers - Game 2 of 5

Another good game between the New York Giants and the New York Bombers. Giants pulled it out 3-2. Hitting is pretty but pitching and defense wins championships! MVP Joe Burns (with or without statistics), threw another excellent game yesterday! Joey's been I invaluable this year!

Giants defense was 1000% better than it was on Saturday. Carlos Llera made the difference in the game by throwing out speedy Ryan Johnson trying to steal 2nd base during Tony Parella's at bat. Tony then hit a ball that bounced off the moon and landed somewhere far far over the rightfield fence. I was acually playing rightfield and at 4:30 in the afternoon at New Scotland with the sun out, its like welding without glasses on (I'm sure I have permanent retinal damage) - never saw the ball that Tony hit but I did feel the shockwave it produced when it landed...........solo homerun instead of game tying 2 run shot.

Ryan Johnson had a couple of hits - plunked one off the top of the leftfield fence (just missed going over).

Darrin was tough on the hill (as he always is) for the Bombers!

Jan Friedman hit the big fly for the Giants (added a bunt single as well). Bobby Bolt had a couple of hit (we're sure going to miss him I his retirement). Ron Smaka was clutch bringing in a couple if runs.

Series continues next weekend - LOVE this 5 game series thing!
