.............as a manager of one (possibly two teams) in the CDMSBL, I'm hoping someone from the BOD can let us managers know if next years divisions will be 30, 40, 50.
It seems that the 33 division (w/12 waivers per team for guys 30 yo) is headed to being a 30+ division.
If that happens, the gap from 30 to the 45 division is kinda like the gap between Hugh Hefner and all of his lady friends. So, it would then make sense to make the 45 division into a 40+ division.
That then leaves the 55's ..........if the 33's go to 30 and 45's to 40........the only logical thing to happen at that point is to give guys 50 yo + a place to play.
THE reason I ask this question: Having this informaion from the BOD now will make it much easier to plan for 2015 with recruiting players, uniforms, etc.
To announce a major change in February or March saying the divisions have been restructured makes it really difficult to plan for the season.
Soooooo............anything to share with the masses, gentlemen?
"If that happens, the gap from 30 to the 45 division is kinda like the gap between Hugh Hefner and all of his lady friends."
This may be the best sentence anyone has eve typed on this bulletin board.

It's my understanding that the national organization established an 18, 30, 40, 50 division format anyway. Should we not change that ourselves to keep up with the times?

If we go to 30,40,and 50 year old divisions I feel we need a division for the players say 55 or older. Because I can see a lot of mid 50 to 60 year old players will not get much playing time.
There are no plans to change the age divisions for the 2015 season . there was discussion at the last BOD meeting that the 45 division might consider the plight of "displaced" older players in a number of ways. Plus the divisions themselves , their commissioners ,GM's and players will have input on any age shift via their off season deliberations and subsequent Annual Season Plans.
The then 35 division shifted downward to help it survive as it was losing teams faster than teams could be restored or created with younger 35+ players. I would say that tact was successful and we are now seeing a return in team numbers albeit the average will subsequently drop from the low 40's . Any age shifting is a drastic move as many of you point out. Not only in the division shifting but to the surrounding divisions and also to individual teams and players.
There was some talk of doing what the 55's did in allowing underage players to join the 45's low standing teams in order to bring about more parity. That will have to be discussed in the 45 winter meetings to be implemented. Jreel
