We pretty much know who we are playing in the 45+ playoffs, but we need to know the where and when part. How close are we to learning this information?
I believe you start the weekend after labor day and play round 1 that weekend with two on Saturday and one Sunday if needed.
The following weekend starts the best of 5 and it concludes the weekend after.
The B division has two series the weekend after Labor Day to get down to 8 and then the next three weekends. The plan is to do two on each Saturday and then Sunday if needed.
I am fairly sure that is correct but double check with John Kalinski to be certain.
When did we go to the 5 game format? I pushed for that for the past two years and was told it just wasn't possible??
I remember it being discussed at the managers meeting but i have been out of the loop since my dodgers folded. I am almost sure that John mentioned it when we talked the other day but don't hold me to it!
It's best 3 of 5 for the A's as yeah, It was not only discussed at the GM meeting, it was made clear. Everyone agreed to it without much fanfare and I even pushed for 4 of 7, but that was obviously nixed. The general impression that was given as to why we (A's) were given the allotted games this year was simply because the B's will be playing for a month while we all go straight to the semi's and hence would get less games.
I saw it as an attempt to equal the amount of games we all get to play and it does seem more "fair" in many respects from where I stand...
Anyways, we (Bombers) gotta get past Mazz, Dunn, and the rest of the Reds first, so that's the focus for us right now and hoping we get to the best of 5 series as that's what it's all about...
