On a humid afternoon at Schenectady Central Park B-Diamond, the Blue Jays defeated the Cougars 18-1 in five innings. The Blue Jays amassed 14 hits, 11 walks, and a hit batter, scoring in every inning. All eleven batters in the Jay's lineup reached base at least once, and multi-hit games came from Tom Bradley, Mike Surin, Bob Noto, and Rich Garbarino. Garbarino not only led the team with 5 RBI, but also scattered four singles and three strikeouts, with no walks, allowing one unearned run in four strong innings on the mound. Mike Surin pitched a final scoreless inning for the Jays.
Next week, the Blue Jays host the Yankees at New Scotland for an important early morning contest.
