Chris Abrams pitched a complete game, allowing just 1 run, and the Whiz Kids gave him plenty of support in a 17-hit attack as they defeated a short handed Marlins team 10-1 Friday night. Abrams allowed 7 hits and 2 walks, but was aided by catcher Brian Musella throwing out 3 would-be base stealers, and the defense turning 2 double plays. John Cortese and Reggie Flansburg led the offense with 3 hits each. Wayne Newcomb scored in the 6th for Marlins on a hit by Joe Sarubbi. Good luck to Ed Diegel and the rest of the Marlins in the playoffs. When their entire team shows up, they can be dangerous. The Whiz Kids take on the Red Hot Peppers Tuesday night at New Scotland in the 1st round of the playoffs. Game time is 5:45. Jim Porter Whiz Kids
