The Americans held off the Whiz 8-4 on Thursday night. The Americans were up 8-0 going into the bottom half of the 7th when the Whiz put together a frantic rally scoring 4 runs before the Americans finally got out of it by leaving 2 Whiz runners stranded.
Jim Kisselburg pitched 6 shutout innings before giving way to Greg Hoin after giving up some runs in the 7th. Ben Petrone had 3 hits and Greg Hoin had a single and double to lead a balanced Americans attack. The Whiz were missing some key players but never gave up through the game. The Whiz have a good group of guys and as always a pleasure to compete with them on the field.
