I attended the league banquet last night, I think it should be pointed out the good job that the guys put into it to get this night organized!It was more of a roast than an awards night! VERY funny speakers and all in good fun. I would have liked to have seen mentioned the league division winners and acknowledgement of the championship teams as in the past. Also I thought they were going to announce the division awards as well since nothing has been posted on the website except Bobby Bolt winning the batting title. I think most guys would like to be able to acknowledge their teammates on the small accolade stuff especially since some teams don't always make the play offs or win championships , but can at least recognize their teammates who may have won league recognition for all league awards and such! just a thought
CONGRATULATIONS to Mark Dabney and John Martin for their induction in the Hall of Fame 2 guys who definitely deserve the accomplishment ,
The Board made the decision a few years back to not announce all of the division champs, award winners etc.
This was done due to an overwhelming amount of feedback that people found all of that a wee tad boring and thought it made the night drag on. We also heard that people would not be attending due to all of the speeches and decided to try and pare it down and make it a fun night to see teammates and fellow players again in anticipation of the season getting under way.
Big thanks to Tommy Smith (and Pam of course ) for organizing this once again and it should be pointed out that he was unexpectedly called out of town all week for work and had little to no time for final preparations.
