Indeed congrats to both players who have been great players for many years.
Dabs has certainly put the fear in pitchers ever since his first at-bat way back when. And it has been a pleasure to be his teammate for the past 3 years or so.

It has been my privilege to play against Jon, and with Mark, for many years now. Couldn't be more deserving players inducted. Congratulations fellas!!

Two first class gentlemen, on and off the field,
I have been lucky enough to call them both teammates,
You couldn't find better teammates if you tried, Great talent and great heart.
Having both in the Hall of Fame makes it a better group to be a part of.
Heartfelt congrats to both of you!
I will hoist a cold one to you both on March 15th! I will just be doing it from Florida!
Have a great night!

congratulations to both fellows for their honors. well earned. i don't recall having played against mark
all that much, though i know he's a fine player.

but i have played against jon and memories there are strong. jon is not only a terrific pitcher, with a
repertoire that keeps batters guessing and then guessing again, and really fine hitter, but he's also someone
who's most generous with his praise and thoughtful comments to other players. more than once i've profited
from something he's said, a suggestion about pitching or hitting. once, after a tough at-bat against a very good
pitcher at bob moore, i singled to right center, and jon, who was playing first, said to me, "really nice at-bat,
mike." it was a simple remark, but it felt generous, and it said to me that he appreciated the core, the essential
baseball struggle that had just gone on, that he'd seen and liked the good play of both pitcher and hitter. jon has
always been like that: he knows the game, he appreciates it, he shares that appreciation with others.

the league's lucky to have both guys. the honors are apt.
