BEWARE OF VULTURES AND HYENAS

In my short time as a GM in this league, I have been impressed with the sportsmanship, respect and class that most of the guys in this league have displayed. I'd like to thank you for that.
Now for the however.
I'm completely in favor of players freely moving to other teams, for whatever reasons that they may have. What player would play on a team that they didn't want to play on. And what GM would want to keep a player who doesn't want to play on their team? But what shows a lack of class is when teams contact players from other teams active rosters to try to lure them to their team. Of course it's always their best players. Fortunately they were unsuccessful in my case. I won't mention names because then I would also be displaying the same lack of class. But you know who you are. All I can say to you new teams is beware of the vultures and hyenas out there. They may be the last people you'd expect.

Hey Steve - Steve Lounello here from the Giants.

Good ballplayers are like pretty women.............they get hit on by vultures all the time.

You just do the best you can to create a good group of guys who like each other, enjoying playing baseball together and you'll be fine but every once in awhile, somebody will leave (for whatever reason).

Oh, and provide as much Coors Light as you can...............sometimes, that's the clincher :)
