the Dodgers took game one of our 3 game set and beat a short handed Yankee team 9-1, Mick Novak went the distance for the dodgers giving up 5 hits striking out 4 with 3 walks. Yankees couldnt put it together defensively or offensively and helped the dodger hitting barrage with some untimely errors. Just quick not before the first pitch was thrown the Yankees and Dodgers had a moment of silence for Mark and his family, just a small token that Mark knows we are all there for him.
puts the game into perspective that we are all lucky to be able to play like kids a game we all love but shows just how precious time really is Mark, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers
Ok, now I know it's a first ~ 2 things in a row we agree upon as yes, Lex is a class act... Maybe we should do this at all league games in the 35's and 45's this week/weekend? If we don't get rained out, I'll suggest it to the Pirates tonight, especially since I know many of them are teammates with Mark on the 45 Giants and close to him...
Mark, There will be a communication to all CDMSBL managers coming to your e-mail soon, coordinating this collection effort. If each manager takes care of getting his teams donation together, and then they can get it to their respective commissioners or to me, then we should be able to get this done in two weeks or less, and still have a nice total to give to Mark for his grand daughter. It is in times like these that we get to show how great this band of brothers that we call the CDMSBL really is. I'm expecting to be really proud of this group when this is done!
