The 45 Dodgers faced off against the Cyclones despite a forecast for rain all day.
First things first ..... two players notched their first hits after 20 plus year layoffs.
For the Cyclones Tom Wind hit a booming double over the center fielders head for his first hit after a 26 year layoff. The Dodgers returning player Bob Altobelli notched his first hit in the form of a screaming line drive double after a 20 year layoff. Bob, a left handed hitter, had a rude introduction back to baseball in game one when he faced one of the top left handed pitchers (Bob Bolt) in his first at bat. I am sure both players will be adding to their hit totals.
The game started with a scoreless first inning. The Cyclones struck first with a run in the top of the 2nd inning when Wind doubled and later scored. The Dodgers struck back in the bottom of the 2nd scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the 2nd. The Dodgers added 1 in the 3rd and 5 more in the 4th to tally a 16-1 victory.
Dodgers pitching was handled by Brett Conlin who threw two innings and newcomer Tony Parella who threw three shutout innings.
