Ted Poleto's mothers passing in the Times Union today 4/18/2012

Poleto, Norma C. COLONIE Norma C. Poleto, 80, our beloved Mother went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. "For you, O Lord have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the Land of the living. Psalm 116: 8 & 9." Norma battled Alzheimer's disease for many years and is finally entering into Gods eternal rest. She was the wife of the late John Poleto and the daughter of the late Lloyd and Alma Coons. Norma graduated from Albany High School and retired from New York State after many years. Norma served the Lord her entire life playing the organ and as choir director at many area churches. She loved her family and the Lord. Norma touched many lives with her music ministry and love. She was a very kind and forgiving Mother and unselfish in all that she did. Norma is the beloved mother of Cyndi (John) Ainsley, Teddy, Danny, Frank (Jenny) Poleto and the late Andy Poleto. She is the grandmother of Josh, Crissy, Gabby, Angel, Zack, Vinny, Jesse, Andrew, Nick, Marisa, Joe, Jack, Matt, Mike and Lily. She is the sister of Billy (Lynda) Coons, Alma Mitchell and the late Carol, Kenny and Artie. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 160 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206 in memory of Norma C. Poleto. So sorry to hear about your loss. Our prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time. I wish I could be there for the services but I am in Kansas chasing Toto. Lori will be there for us.

Your mom is in a much better place, and will be in your heart forever. Wishing you and your family all the best at a difficult time.

Ron and Lori Lochner

Ted - losing your Mom is a game changer for sure. I'll be thinking about you, man. Take good care of yourself in the process - it's important.

To everyone within the inredible reach that CDMSBL has as well as the uniting factor the game of baseball always unites us in ways we can never imagine....When the guys showed up at the funeral home as well as Lori Ralph and Sue I think i counted a total of 20 i was stunned and overwhelmed with the fact everyone who has better things to do took time out of their schedule and showed up. I was very appreciative i have been blessed with the greatest friends on earth the guys i get such little time to hang out with at the cooler let alone play ball it was just incredible...The loss of my mom aside this was what caught me and stunned me...

I want to thank everyone across CDMSBL, players from twilight to little league who came out, called, texted or wrote to me... Its impossible to describe when you have this length in this league when something happens its like a band of brothers along with the wives girlfriends etc who make things make sense. Its all about family and thre isnt a greater family than CDMSBL

thanks again to everyone and may God richly bless you and you families
