It certainly was a privilege to play on Team Rake and win the 45 title. First and foremost, Stevie put together a great group of guys; secondly, they all had talent. Organizing an event in three divisions chasing after multiple fields is never easy, but Tommy Smith, with help of a few of his friends, pulled it off.
But many thanx is also in order to the teams who made it to Albany from out of town. In the 45 Division, the Maine Indians not only had to endure the 5-hour trip to get here, they also had to endure accidents on the highways both days and travel from New Scotland to Waterford two straight days. Not to mention they played three games on Sunday and gave Team Rake a helluva game in the final.
Next year, we'll be sure to avoid them from having to drive 45 minutes between fields.
Great bunch of guys, those Maine boys! McGreavy's may never be the same!
