Playoff Schedule Summary

On the playoff summary posted, it says the winner of the 2/9 game plays the winner of the 5/6 game and the winner of the 4/7 game plays the winner of the 3/8 game. Why has that been determined? What happens if 6 or 8 win? Isn't that what happened last year and we tried to avoid this year? Didn't we want to be reseeded after the first round? If 2 beats 9, shouldn't they play the lowest remaining seed? As even as the league has been this year, there is a very good possibility that a lower seed could beat a higher seed and we end up with 2 vs. 5 and 7 vs 8 for instance.

What we did do is correct the problem which occurred last year after round 2. the problem is that teams on the loser bracket have an elimination game with the same thing at stake as the the 2 remaining winners bracket teams. to say another way, in the format last year, if seeds advanced accordingly out of round one we'd have 2,3,4,5 on the winners bracket side , with eventually 5 and 4 playing each other in an elimination game. And conversely the loser bracket would eventually feature the 6 and 7 teams playing each other with the same thing stake as the 4/5 match-up. this gave the 4 (and 5 seed) seed no advantage for his superior seed. so we reseed at this stage and hope to halt the inequities at that point rather than reseeding twice. or rather four times if we include the losers bracket. that could be a scheduling nightmare. re-seeding at the lull in action is the opportune time and we hope to refine the equities we found last year with that move.
Our format is unique in that it seeks to find 3 survivors instead of one. and this is reflected on the winners side by advancing the first two 2-0 teams . the remaining 7 games are played only to determine the 4th semifinalist. I would think that this format ( and further tweaked as described) allows for the the best teams at this point and on this particular weekend to reach the semi finals. jreel past 45 commish (by no means do i wish to intervene but only explain)
