In a very close game that had a number of nail-biting moments in the final two innings, The Shaskys edged the Vets 11-6 in 8 innings on Sunday 8-26 at the Satellite Field.
This is a game that the regulation 7th inning ended with the bases loaded and a 3-2 pitch. Ball Four and the Vets would have won the game. I was dying from the pressure of the moment so of course the batter hit the ball to me.
Both teams played tough, dealt with a really tough sun field, and both teams had leads, came from behind to tie the game, and fought till the bitter end.
It was very refreshing to play a significant game in a fight for a better playoff seed in the last regular season game. Good game, Vets. Good luck in the playoffs!
