The Golden Marlins and Shaskys made up a rainout on Saturday afternoon at New Scotland. The story of the game was the pitching and defense of the Marlins. Phil Gadomski started for the Fish and gave up just one unearned run in his five innings of work. Mash scattered four hits, one walk, and one HBP, while striking out 2. Mike Girard came on to pitch the final two innings and gave up two singles, and no walks, while striking out 2 and holding the Shasky's scoreless. Tim Brown and Randy Craft flashed some impressive leather, as they made no less than 5 spectacular plays, showing why the Marlins pitching staff enjoys pitching in front of the best middle infield in the league. Jim Ansel led the offense for the Marlins with a double and 4 RBIs. Mike Clary and Phil Gadomski added 2 RBI's each and Mike Girard was 2 for 3, with 2 runs scored. Mike Aiello had a perfect day at the plate for the Shasky's, as he went 2 for 2 with walk. The Golden Marlins move their record to 6-0 with the win, as they get ready for a big game Sunday @ 5:15 pm against the loaded Reds. The Shaskys drop to 2-7 with the loss.
