The storyline for this game was the one hit pitching of John Weber and solid defense played by the Blue Jays in the shutout victory. The only Cougar hit was an infield single in the fifth inning to spoil the no - no. The Jays scored four runs in the first with the big hit a double by Bob Noto. Single runs were scored in the second and fifth inning and the Blue Jays exploded for four more in the sixth plating three on Mark Dolan's bases clearing double and a triple by Brian Allen. Three more runs were plated in the seventh inning to close out the scoring. The score was not an indicator of how the game progressed. The Cougars hit several balls right on the button but were denied by outstanding defensive plays by the Blue Jays. The Cougars are a much improved team.
