Bob Moore rules ...

Bob Moore Time Curfew Rules******

5:45 Game Game is over at 8:00 p.m., whether it is mid-inning, mid at-bat or not. No new inning should be started after 7:45. Even if you start the inning before 7:45, game ends at 8:00. Please grab your stuff and change your spikes in the bleachers outside the fence or in the grass. The next time you have the late game, you will benefit.

8:15 Game You should warm up and get loose outside of the fence so you are ready to go. Game ends promptly at 10:30 p.m., even though the game may be tied and its a 2-2 count with 2 outs. If there is any question on when it is 10:30, you can consult the home team managers cell phone. No excuses that he left it in the car, because that didnt happen. The lights MUST be turned off at 10:40 p.m., and everyone MUST leave the park by 11:00 p.m.

Thanks Jimmy - these were written by our league and sent to Mark, so no room for debate.

Anyone violating curfew will be subject to code of conduct penalties since it will jeopardize our relationship with this field. If you haven't been there this year, make sure to stop by. Completely new infield and........drum roll.......completely new bathrooms!

Quick history of CDMSBL and Bob Moore:

Back when new teams were required to bring a field with them if they wished to join our league, newcomer Dennis Maille secured this venue for us.
Dennis put together an expansion Cub team in the then 38 and over division. I joined this team not knowing anyone at the time, and a bunch of us had a work party over there, painting, field work etc..then president Kevin Jackson helped as well.

The league only played one game a night there then..it was great to have the lights as backup if needed -we never had to worry about time limits, curfews, etc. No special rules for the umpires to administer, no checking of cell phone clocks-just a 7 inning,or more, game of baseball.

Well Dennis and that Cub team lasted two seasons (the original, younger Cubs moved up). Dennis is no longer in our league.. not sure he was ever thanked for his contributions...anyone wishing to reach out to him will find him on Facebook.

Point being - the last thing I want to worry about when I get to the field are a bunch of rules and regulations..are we playing fast enough, too much time between innings, pitches, etc...just play one game there a day..keep it simple..find another field.

Jonny

The Yankees and Pirates just played at bob moore the score was 8-5 alot of hits and exciting plays we got done playing a little after 10, We just moved along in between innings and had runners ready to run, and did the little things to make the game go by faster so I dont think the time limit is too much an issue, now all the things we had to do after the game thats a different story haha

Padres/Pirates went 8 innings of a great 5-4 game (greater if you were wearing white) with time to spare last night. Each team used multiple pitchers but got on/off the field between innings quickly.

I know that i am just a "fan" but i totally agree with Jon on this one. it would make it more "fun" if the guys just "played" baseball and didn't have to worry about what time it is......... the cubs v. dodgers game was really intense and it was very hard to stop playing when the score was 1-0 and played the full 7 innings.....just saying:)

Wow, I haven't been here in a few years, but it's nice to be remembered! Thanks Jon!

My short tenure should not be a reflection on the league or my experiences in it. In fact, it was one of the best experiences of my life. Every time I drive by a baseball field I still miss it. I'm sure I'd still be embarrassing myself all over the fields of the capital district if not for the best thing to ever happen to me - kids.

Hey, I'm happy to see you guys are still using the Bob Moore. Since I'm only a few miles from the field, if the league ever needs anyone to run interference with the field "decision makers", or attend field board meetings, etc. please call on me. I'm happy to help this great league in any way I can. As Jon said, you can find me on Facebook, or email me at: dmaille@me.com

Thanks to Jonny Martin and all the other great players that took a chance on an unknown, untested player/manager all those years ago!
