Americans struck early for 6 runs in the 1st on singles by Nick Kanellis, Jim Wing, Brad Buchan and John Hayden along with some walks and Hawk miscues. The Hawks answered right back with 2 runs in their 1st on a single by Rich Frank, a SAC by Edelman, a walk and a couple Americans errors. The Hawks kept up their scoring in the 2nd on some walks and a single by Tom Gleason for 2 runs. Some walks, a double by Glenn Rugen and singles by Buchan and Hayden led to 3 more American runs in their 3rd - then another 2 runs in the 4th on singles by John Vidor, Rogers and Mike Labarge. The Americans finished the game's scoring with 4 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th on singles by Glenn and Rob Rugen, Rogers, Labarge and a SAC by Wing. Other hits by the Americans were a single by Joe Romero and double by Jim Kisselburgh. J Edelman also singled for the Hawks. J Edelman and Frank also pitched for the Hawks. Buchan retired 6 of 7 with 2 K's and Kisselburgh 6 of 8 with 3 K's in relief for the Americans. Americans improve to 4-1 and Hawks move to 0-4.
