I just wanted to say a proper thank you to all the Cubbies (and you too John) who helped my darling wife-to-be in the paring lot after you guys thrashed us in the season opener... It was cool of you to assist us as she was clearly rattled by my managerial debut becoming an 11-4 debacle!

I'll be looking for Mike's write up soon enough as our defense was awful and the fact you guys are a hitting machine, well, giving extra outs rarely works out good... Plus Ron was his usual stellar self on the mound as well and I knew we weren't likely to score too many runs off of him as yes, I fully realize that ALL of our runs were unearned...

Even though it was a little cold and you guys gave us a beat down, it was awful nice to be out on the field in a meaningful game against a bunch of really good, classy guys who can play some ball... I appreciate it...

And assure you we will give you a much better game next time ~ just give us a little time to get some things worked out as I'm still figuring out who goes where and such with all the new guys...
