SCHENECTADY Ralph Marrero Jr., 54, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 28, 2011, at Ellis Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the manager of the Animal Protective Foundation in Glenville.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Robin A. Ashton; his daughter, Brenda Lee Marrero; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dolores and Ben Ashton, and his sister-in-law, Lisa Ashton.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, N.Y. 12302, in memory of Ralph Marrero Jr.

Thanks Jimmy.

I am putting up another post that lists details on a get-together to remember Ralph's contributions to the league and otherwise. The Dodgers had a nice gathering at the Pearl last week and were gracious enough to invite several others.

I've spoken to Mickey Novak and we feel this is a way to have more of the league participate.

Just wanted to let you guys know. I went on to the website of newcomeralbany.com/obituaries and put in ralph marrero's name where it asks "search" and there is a guestbook to sign if anyone is interested.
