After what seemed like a three week long malaise of going through baseball motions, the Cubs (the Cubs that have "brought it" for the last 25 years) showed up ready to play! It can NEVER be said enough that pitching & defense wins games! Final Score 6-1
Highlights:
Cubs - No errors - Darrel Duncan (no relation to Tim) came in with his A-game stuff - 7 hits over 7 innings (Carlos Espada reluctantly gave up his Player of the Game bling thing) - PJ Martone LONG double - Jerry Rosen (known as shortstick...because he chokes up so much - not what some of you were thinking, c'mon!) 2 hits - Birthday Boy Dave Mitchell - doubled - Ron Massaroni 2 hits (one being a double) - Paul Miles strategically place at the end of the lineup 2 hits/2 SB's - Chris Dunn another timely hit to drive in what felt like the final dagger/SB
Twins - Jeff Whitehead 2 hits - Mark Wight 2 hits (double) - Steve Rychcik (spelling taken from CDMSBL website - hope I got it right) played a great 3rd base and contributed a base hit.
