Do Over has the same outcome.

Last nights do over game (protest replay), had a very similar result as the original.

The replay of the bottom of the 4th saw the Whiz Kids storm back int the game with a collection
of well placed singles and two Cubs errors. They plated 5 runs to pull to 8-6 before the Cubs could escape that
cursed inning.

The 5th inning saw both teams retired without any major threats. In the top of the 6th, this time the Cubs were able to plate
2 very important insurance runs. Paul Miles reached on an error, to lead off the inning. Mike Girard followed with a single, with Miles using his speed to get to third. Joey Burns then snagged a bouncer to the mound and held Miles at third before retiring Girard on the force at second. Andy Hoyle again forced the runner at second, but this time Miles was able to score. With two outs, a wild pitch moved Hoyle into scoring position and Jerry Rosen delivered him with a solid RBI single, and the lead was 10 to 6.

Girard was able to get the Whiz in the bottom half of the inning without incident, and when Burns got the Cubs in order, in the top of the 7th, it was on to the last half inning. The Whiz would not go quietly! Holmes led off the inning with a double. Girard would get the next two batters on routine grounders. All he had to do now was retire the number 9 hitter, and the game would be over. Dennis Buckleys job was to keep hopes alive and get the top of the order to the plate. Dennis won this battle with a solid RBI single, to make the score 10-7. He then stole second and Joey Burns singled him home to make it 10-8, and bring the tying run to the plate. Mike Girard was able to induce the next batter to pop out to short, and the do over game was finally over, with a 10-8 final score.

Now it is on to the all important final winners bracket game vs the Giants, on Tuesday night at the A-diamond. The winner will advance directly to the finals, while the loser will have to play the survivor of the losers bracket, just to get a chance to come back to play the winner. The winner will then only need to win one of two to be crowned champion.

The Whiz now need to run a gauntlet of the Dodgers and the winner of the Yankees/Cardinals game, to get a shot at making the losers bracket final. They now need to win 5 consecutive games to claim the title. Their road starts Monday night at New Scotland, vs the very tough Dodgers.

Good luck to all remaining teams.
