The game was a beautifully played pitcher's duel between Mike Kane and Ralph Caputo for 4-1/2 innings.
Both pitchers were brilliant giving up just 2 unearned runs each.

In the bottom of the 5th inning the Whiz Kids got their first 3 runners on, against the Cubs' tiring starter.
Mike Girard came on in relief, and poured gas on the fire! 3 runs scored, in the inning, and he gave up another 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th,
with a little help from some shoddy defense. The Cubs plated two, in the the top of the 7th, to provide the final score.

Mike Kane pitched a complete game for the Whiz, and was nothing short of spectacular.
We look forward to one more game against the Whiz, in the Top Four extra 3 games, before heading to the playoffs in early August.
