Cardinals defeated the Twins at Gruner 9-6 Monday evening. The first inning did in the Twins as the Cards scored 6 runs. Twins made a pitching change after the first and outscored the Cardinals 6-3 over the final 6 innings, but it was too little too late. It was a beautiful night for baseball that was a fitting end to the Twins ever playing at Gruner again. Sad to see the old park in such a terrible state of neglect with bathrooms absolutely unfit for use that are certainly a disgusting public health risk, overflowing garbage cans, three inches of powder at home plate and on the mound, burned up grass that made the ground feel like concrete, and rocks throughout the infield. The players deserve better. We look forward to returning to play back at the fields in the Albany area.
